In the U.S. especially in areas of heavy rains, Flash floods pose a risk on homes and businesses. Heavy rains can cause ash floods, mud flows, or even cause debris to damage properties. • Purchase flood insurance so your property is covered in case of a flood emergency.
• Install gutter systems to insure water flows off of your property, and clean them regularly.
• Fix any leaks in your property immediately.
• Possibly install extra roof protection such as a rubber liner or a waterproof barrier that goes under the shingles of your roof.
